5.  Albuquerque Balloon Festival - SeptemberThis event, we guarantee, is like nothing you’ve ever seen before in your entire life! Imagine a sky filled with hundreds of different coloured hot air balloons floating in the air. You can turn this imagination into a reality when you visit the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, held every year in Ne Mexico, and witness over 500 air balloons fly over your head, creating an almost magical kind of atmosphere for the visitors. Not only watching, but you will also have an opportunity to fly up on a hot air balloon as well here, making it one of the best festivals in the US.

6.  Faked Out Sports Pumpkin Man Festival -September - Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Pumpkin Man’s mythical skinny body and fat pumpkin head are celebrated with a parade on Yorktown Street in central Tulsa!!  Thousands of Tulsans will wear pumpkin heads and dance in the streets!!  The festival is held at Utica Square for 3 days in late September!! The festival includes pumpkin fudge making contest, pumpkin seed spitting, πŸŽƒ pumpkin pie eating contest and an autograph booth with Pumpkin Man and his creator!!

7.   Roadkill Cookoff – Marlington, West Virginia   Mostly attended by locals with a few outside stragglers, the annual Roadkill Cookoff is exactly what the name implies. If it wasn’t found dead on the side of the road, it won’t be on the menu. Visitors show up for a taste of the unusual, even if they don’t know what it was prior to falling victim to an 18-wheeler or a four-wheel drive pickup truck. Of course, there’s live music to chew by.

8.   Mothman Festival. Point Pleasant, West Virginia - September   According to the website, the first sighting on the red-eyed winged creature known as "Mothman" was in 1966 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. While it's just an urban legend, visiting the festival and the town itself might have you turning into a believer. There are paranormal guest speakers, a tour of the area where the sighting took place, selfies with the infamous Mothman statue, costumes, and of course, Mothman face painting for the kiddos.

9.   National Hollerin’ Festival - North Carolina - August.   Every September, people rush to Clinton,  North Carolina to scream. This isn't a joke.  Formerly known as the National Hollerin' Contest, the competition was first held in 1969 to celebrate a "sophisticated" vocal tradition used between individuals dealing with long-distance communication. Obviously, this method of talking came before the telephone.

10.  Geckofest - Gulfport, Florida - September   What is probably one of the most colorful events in the U.S., GeckoFest brings thousands of visitors to Gulfport, Florida every September to celebrate the town's "unofficial mascot and favorite reptile."According to the festival's website, the theme for this year's event is GeckoCon, which means all the people who come dressed like geckos will now come dressed like geckos in superhero costumes. While the street performers, colorful costumes and annual Gecko Ball are obvious attractions, perhaps the coolest thing about this festival is its popular, high-energy street dances.

FOS Top 7 Most Famous Male College Football Cheerleaders All-time:

GEORGE W. BUSH
Future president George W. Bush wasn't just a cheerleader at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts in the 1960s: he was head cheerleader.

AARON SPELLING
Aaron Spelling may have made his name behind the scenes as one of television's most prolific—and successful—producers, but he was front and center when he was head cheerleader at Southern Methodist University.

JIMMY STEWART
Iconic actor Jimmy Stewart was also head cheerleader during his tenure at Princeton.

SAMUEL L. JACKSON
Samuel L. Jackson lent his legendary voice to the squad at Riverside High in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

TRENT LOTT
Former Mississippi Senator Trent Lott was a cheerleader at Ole Miss.

KIRK DOUGLAS AND MICHAEL DOUGLAS
Before he was an actor, Kirk Douglas honed his performance skills as a cheerleader at Amsterdam High School in Amsterdam, New York. As with acting, Kirk's son Michael also followed in his dad's footsteps in cheerleading; he was on the squad at Choate.

FOS Top College Football Stadium
Entrances:

 1.  Clemson - Bus Ride to Rub the Rock
The Tigers ride buses around the stadium, enter the stadium before “Running Down The Hill,” and every player touches Howard’s Rock in “the most exciting 25 seconds in college football,” according to Hall of Fame broadcaster Brent Musberger.

 2.  Virginia Tech Sandman Song
The entire stadium, from the band, to the student section, to people who are probably too old to do it, jump in unison as the song builds to its climax. The Hokies’ football team walks from their locker room to the stadium, files into the narrow tunnel, and bursts onto the Lane Stadium field. It’s electric, it’s crazy, and it’s our favorite entrance in all of college football.

 3.  Florida State War Spear
Chief Osceola rides in on Renegade and plants his spear at midfield while the Florida State faithful let their iconic war chant ring into the Tallahassee air during pregame ceremonies. The tomahawk chop, though, is mind-bending. Doak Campbell Stadium seats around 80,000 people, and all able-bodied FSU fans raise their arms, and chop in unison.  If your on the visiting team bench and the spear is spiked in the ground you tend to shat your pants!

4.  Texas Tech Masked Rider
Since the 1954 Gator Bowl, Texas Tech’s “Masked Rider” has led the team onto the field, but he was first seen roaming Texas Tech’s sidelines in 1936.

 5.  Georgia Tech 1930 Model T
Georgia Tech’s nickname is the Yellow Jackets, and their mascot is Buzz, but it’s a 1930 Ford Model A Sport Coupe that serves as the student body’s official mascot. “Wreck” first began leading the Georgia Tech football team onto the field in 1961, which originally was a 1914 Ford Model T.

6.  Oklahoma Sooners Sooner Schooner
Two white horses, rightfully named Boomer and Sooner, pull the replica Studebaker Conestoga wagon on and around Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium to welcome the Sooners to the field!  The Schooner toppled over in a game in 2019 and Sooner fans watch the Schooner come out leading the team betting on what yard line the wagon would topple!!

 7.  Texas A&M 12th Man on ’Roids
The Texas A&M drumline marches out ahead of the Aggies at Kyle Field, home of the 12th man, and sets the stage for their SEC powerhouse to take the field. The entire stadium claps, flicks pompoms and towels, and awaits the Aggies team to appear at the entrance of the tunnel. Then, Kanye West’s stadium anthem “POWER” drops, and the place goes nuts. Kyle Field is one of largest stadiums in the country, but there’s not an empty seat in the house when the Aggies take the field.

 8.  Hawaii Haka Dance
When the Haka Dance begins, you know it’s time for battle. Iconically performed by New Zealand’s athletic teams during international competition, it’s forgotten here because most East Coast football fans don’t watch the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors play at 10:30 on Saturday nights. This ceremonial dance is one of the coolest moments in the country, and it deserves a spot on the list.

 9.  East Carolina Purple Haze
Accompanied by a little Jimi Hendrix, the ECU Pirates’ entrance into Dowdy Ficklen Stadium is incredibly underrated. East Carolina’s fallen on hard times since moving to the American Athletic Conference, but if the program returns to the way it was when quarterback Shane Carden was smashing records left and right, you’ll be seeing plenty more ECU football as the AAC continues to gain momentum.

10.  Tulsa Golden Hurricane Tesla Smoke Machine
The Hurricane and their Golden Retriever dog, Rumplestilskin, leads the Hurricane golf cart, hurricane warning flags, cheerleaders, and team on the field with a smoke machine built by Tesla!!

Words of wisdom from the unwise one!
Do not say Pumpkin πŸŽƒ Man three times in a row while in a seance!!

Have a great sports almost here week!
