Cardinals fans didn’t invent baseball, but they’d like you to believe that is the case. There are few things in sports more infuriating than passive-aggressive friendliness from opposing fans, and Cardinals fans have that market cornered‼️ I bet it’s easy to appreciate great performances from opposing players when your team is a perennial contender. The patronizing attitude from fans in the ballpark is bad enough, but Cardinals fans on Twitter? They’re a phenomenon unto themselves, and not in a good way. An astonishingly infuriating fan base!! Love it ❤️‼️
Cubs
Ranked the 17th most annoying fanbase AND just 7 spots behind my Redbirds as always!
Everything that made Cubs fans fun when the team was a loser — the drinking, the lamentations about the team’s struggles, the leaning into the lovable loser status — disappeared instantly when they won the World Series! Immediately thereafter, they became even worse than Red Sox fans, an impressive feat. Cubs fans are spoiled, entitled and whiny and somehow managed to retain a put-upon vibe. Those are the nicest things I could say about them! While it was tempting to blame Joe Maddon for some of that dynamic, it hasn't exactly improved since his departure. Their ownership seems truly atrocious. I'd feel bad for almost any other fans in that situation but in this case? Naaaaw! Effen love it, Bob C.‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Royals
The Royals are back! After winning 8 of their last 10 the Royals are in second place in the AL West! Jac Caglione superstar for NW Arkansas AA 9 hrs and 36 RBIs!
Dodgers
The Dodgers announced today that right-hander Evan Phillips has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to right forearm discomfort. Fellow righty Matt Sauer has been recalled to take his spot on the active roster.
The club hasn’t provided any details about Phillips but it’s a concerning announcement. It’s always somewhat worrisome when a pitcher’s elbow/forearm are the cause of an IL stint and it only exacerbates what has already been a challenging year for the righty. Phillips was left off the Dodgers’ World Series roster last year. An MRI revealed nerve irritation in his shoulder and he was also dealing with tightness in his lat, triceps and biceps, as well as arm fatigue!
Astros
Back when the Houston Astros signed Brendan Rodgers to a minor league deal on Feb. 18, there wasn't much thought that the player who was non-tendered by the Colorado Rockies was going to be a key figure for a team that made seven straight ALCS appearances before their Wild Card elimination last year.
But, Jose Altuve was officially moved to left field and that created an opening at second base!
